If you’re serious about a professional, science-based approached to training, then the Advanced Consulting Practicum is one of those opportunities you shouldn’t skip. This course exists because our profession needs this. The dogs need this. There’s no other course in this industry that’s providing an opportunity like this. The Advanced Consulting Practicum is designed for professional trainers and behavior consultants who already hold a high level of experience and knowledge and recognize the value in personalized, in-depth studies of their toughest cases. 

The Advanced Consulting Practicum might be for you if you:

• Can commit to showing up – and engaging in discussions – weekly for six months
• Are committed to personal and professional growth
• Are committed to applying science and critical thinking to your work
• Are currently working with clients (or shelter/rescue dogs)
• Are at an intermediate to advanced education and experience level
• Want a deep-dive extended learning opportunity directed specifically at the cases you are working
• Are committed to positive reinforcement

The Advanced Consulting Practicum is an opportunity to:

• Get six months of weekly coaching calls with Dr. Spaulding and a small number of other students
• Share details of cases you are currently working on and get ongoing feedback from fellow professionals
• Form lasting relationships and become part of a close community with other trainers and behavior consultants that share your level of education and interest in the science of behavior (#doggeeksunite!)

Application process

This is not a course designed for beginner behavior consultants. Ideal candidates will have a strong foundation in science as well hands-on experience. Due to the format and small size of this practicum, new students must apply prior to registering. This ensures existing knowledge of and experience in applied animal behavior using science-based, force-free, and humane techniques. All applicants must have consistent access to ongoing cases.
